At Casa de Moneda - Coleccion Numismatica del Banco de la Republica, follow the history of local currency chronologically, from pre-Columbia days through the 20th century. Housed in a historical mint, the museum includes collections of machinery, banknotes, coins, and more. As you progress through time, you'll note a transition from the goods-exchange system of the tribes before European contact to the coin-based economy under Spanish colonial rule. Along the way, you'll also learn a lot about the nation's social, economic, and political development, both before and after its independence from Spain. Although many displays feature only Spanish text, you can enjoy much of the museum visually. • This is a nice museum and besides the Botero museum, city square is near by and many restaurants. There are many shops around the place. Graffity in the area is something else.

  • This cultural complex consists of: Museo Botero, Museo Casa de la Moneda, and Museo de Arte Miguel Urrutia - MAMU The admission is free so visit and enjoy five centuries of art!
  • This museum is MASSIVE. It has so much more than I was expecting. Also, it was free. There was art, history, culture, basically anything you could look for in a museum.
