  • Tricky to get their, unless you like off-road riding. But if you do and go on a motorcycle then there are brilliant twisties. The view is stunning and it worth the ride even in the rain. At the top there is a small restaurant with lovely people and good coffee.
  • Beautiful, remote, yet overated in my opinion. Go there if you are in the area during high season and want to escape to crowd. The place IS beautiful but also hard to access and less impressive that Cocora Valley (which I enjoyed a lot since I went there in low season). The owner's family is very welcoming - they also serve food and can host you - and the explanations about their lands is a nice plus. Yes, this is a good "local" alternative to Cocora, but no, it is not "better" than Cocora - just different. The get there, first go to Salamina, then head to San Félix (buses also go there). From San Félix, drive or walk around two hours on the dirt road to the Mirador. We slept in La Italia (located on the way between San Félix and the Mirador).
