  • Travelled here specially to visit this museum, having carefully checked that it was open on Sundays and public holidays. However they had randomly decided to close this Sunday... very disappointing.

  • One of the better museums I have visited in Latin America. The English translations were complete, and with excellent grammar. The exhibits were well laid out, interesting, and professional. I especially enjoyed the indigenous carvings, along with the explanations of their significance. The bottom floor talks about the geological and biological history of the area, and contains the exhibits of indigenous artefacts. Continuing upstairs, you learn the specific history of Santa Marta as a city, as well as the history of the building that the museum is contained within, which was surprisingly interesting! Oh, and it's completely free.
  • It is a place full of history that is going to help you to understand how native people lived before the colonization and all kind of things that happened after that. Actually if the house could talks, she'll tell you many interesting stories where she was present through the time. It's Free.
