Dominated by a dormant volcano, Lake Abbe provides plenty of chances to spot local animals, such as monkeys, gazelles, and all kinds of birds. The surrounding area feature hundreds of chimney-like structures, shaped by wind out of limestone. The landscape may seem harsh, but it's far from uninhabited--local nomads live and graze their goats and camels on the lake's shores. This Afar triple junction is an open class room in the geological point of view on Plate Tectnonics. Beautiful, mesmerising, vastness of Africa has lot many wonderful places. Explore, feel the beauty of Nature and let us try to add more greenary to enhance the beauty of Nature. Good luck.
This place is so magical. I was able to stay for one night with some friends. We stayed in these traditional Afar huts and were fed delicious food prepared by the helpful Afar family living in the campsite. I saw many animals including gazelle, warthogs, foxes and ostriches! We hired a guide through Rushing Waters in Djibouti and he was great! Definitely recommend this if you are coming to Djibouti!
