Museum of Eroticism (Musee de l'Erotisme) is a sex museum in Paris devoted to the erotic art collections of antique dealer Alain Plumey and French teacher Jo Khalifa. This collection shows you the ancient erotic art of India, Japan, and Africa, along with contemporary pieces. Explore all five floors, including a basement exhibit. One floor is devoted to the legal brothels of the 19th and early 20th century in France. The film "Polisson et Galipettes" is shown here, a collection of pornographic shorts formerly exhibited in these brothels. The upper two floors showcase revolving exhibits, mainly by contemporary artists. To find out how to plan a trip to Paris, use our trip itinerary maker.

  • The museum was right next door to the hotel and my friend and I were walking back from dinner, it was late (12am) but we weren't quite tired enough for bed so we decided to pop in and check it out...  more »
  • not great, dont waste your money. There are multiple floors all showing much of the same stuff, for what you pay to get in its really not worth it  more »

  • So sorry this place has closed! It was a legit museum with fascinating exhibits and wildly unique art - located appropriately in the heart of the Pigale area next door to the Moulin Rouge. 5 small floors with each floor representing a different era from antiquity on the ground floor to the modern era at the top. Some tasteful, some explicitly (and often hilariously) pornographic. Hopefully the works themselves have been preserved and the museum can once again someday reopen.
  • This is a remarkable museum. Erotic? Certainly. Pornographic? Possibly in some areas, but presented tastefully. Spread over 7 floors, take the lift to the top and work your way down. Some of the sculpture work is exquisite and true works of art. A good 2 hours (or more) browsing on a wet day.
