  • If i am not mistaken,it was once the longest floating bridge in the world. Not very sure if it still is. It's a decent bridge which has made the travel time much shorter except for the peak hours...

  • A few years ago. This was the longest floating bridge in the world. Total length 1,851 m. This bridge really needs repairs as you're driving. You can see and certain points are shifting. They need better security coverage at the outer parts so those inexperienced and drunk captains can crash into those barriers instead of the bridge. The Demerara Harbour Bridge is a 6,074-foot long floating toll bridge. It was commissioned on 2 July 1978. The bridge crosses the Demerara River 4 miles south of the Guyanese capital Georgetown, from Peter's Hall, Demerara-Mahaica, East Bank Demerara to Schoon Ord, Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, West Bank Demerara.
