Villa San Michele, Anacapri

#1 of 12 in Historic Sites in Island of Capri
Must see · History Museum · Historic Site
Villa San Michele displays antiquities from Rome and Egypt, and works as recent as the 20th century. The impressive surrounding gardens are filled with statues and objects created from marble, stone, wood, ceramic, and terracotta. Ivy has overgrown the figures in some areas, but that only adds to the beauty of the park. Add Villa San Michele and other attractions to your Anacapri trip itinerary using our Anacapri trip website.

  • Situated close the center of Anacapri, the villa and gardens of San Michelle make for a great visit. The house was built was Axel Munthe and there is a lot of history of the man and his life as you...  more »
  • Extremely picturesque place in Anacapri on the beautiful island of Capri. Stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea! It's a little bit of an escape from the bustling throngs of tourist on the island of Capri too. The wait for the bus trip up can be long so get in line early. Take the steps back down when you're ready to go (it's a lovely scenic route).
  • Beautiful garden and villa. Alex Munthe was a very interesting person. Worth the 8 euros (2019). The price of the coffee inside will make you feel more like in Sweden than in Italy.
