Tabur West : Great hike, a bit of a scramble at times, and a really rewarding sunrise. There are ropes and handles planted in the rocks which help massively. If you go all the way up and continue after the busy sunrise people gathering, there are 2-3 steep bits with no ropes or handles so you just need to be a but careful. The whole Tabur West loop can easily be done in less than 2.5 hours without too many stops.
Amazing trek just outside KL. Not for the faint-hearted. They say the West trek is the easiest. It was quite challenging for us. You have to climb through 6 ridges to reach the highest one. Ropes are along the way so it is doable just make sure you get a good grip before every step. My girlfriend and I had turn back just before the last ridge since we got a little concerned about the weather and got a bit stressed. Still a 5 Star experience even if we did not reach the top summit. You have to respect the mountains and your limits . We started about 9am and on the way back when we reached the start of our trek there were people by the entrance to ensure nobody goes inside. So if you decide to do it make sure you start early and you are pretty confident climbing with ropes. Bring gloves and plenty of water. We consumed 3 liters in 4 hours and at the end it was not enough. If you do the whole trek I assume about 5-6 hours in total. Have fun and be safe
