==~~ About Us ~~==Put Junk Book Store and other Kuala Lumpur attractions into our Kuala Lumpur online tour planner , and watch your holiday take shape.
Situated in the busy town center, about five minutes walk from Central Market, an art and craft/antique/handicraft center where tourists find it hard to miss and about 10 minutes walk from our popular China Town (Petaling Street), a perfect for bargaining when comes to shopping.
The whole ambience of Junk Book Store looks like an old library well stocked with an impressive inventory of books, magazines, Marvel Comics and LP records. There is also a section of foreign languages books where backpackers read and enjoy.
Knowing very well that it is a challenging business and being an independent bookstore, it is undeniably tough to stand a place in the market, not to mention fame and popularity.
Today, with its owners' enthusiasm and determined hard work to source books, Junk Book Store has transformed into a bookstore where one can get the best bargain/choice and the joy of finding a rare book that one has been searching from the creaking shelves full of musty-smelly volumes. To seekers of forgotten published gems and book enthusiasts, you will be charmed and thrilled for the store contains many fascinating relics from Malaysia's past and History of all kinds.
We strongly emphasise on personal attention, working hard to meet your expectations and fulfill your desires. We have now succeeded in building up a vast customer base over the world. Many thanks to our regular patrons, local and overseas (who visit us whenever they are back to Malaysia for their holidays). Appreciate their kindness and confidence in bringing us many more new customers. With your trust, valuable comments and continued support, we promise, by all means, to happily serve you and keep improving.
"Seeing is Believing". We look forward to your patronage.
Junk Book Store Reviews
I've been there to look for old Famous Five by Enid Blyton. Only a few left at that time. Each cost about RM 40 per book. I'm shocked but still buy it anyway as I love Famous Five series so much. The ... more »
Некий букинистический магазин. Книг много, если порыться. наверняка можно найти что-то стоящее и интересное. Еще представлены открытки, журналы. more »Some Bookstore. A lot of books, if you dig. Surely you can find something worthwhile and interesting. Presented cards, magazines.
The bookstore you dream of, piles and piles and racks of books in the cramped 3 storeys shop. You can easily spend a whole afternoon just browsing. Rare old books are locked on the 3ed storey, you will need to ask the boss to bring you up. Price wise it's fairly expensive, but you might just find something interesting.
Well it has fantastic books especially upstairs, but 2 problems, price is whack; i know it is hard to find an old but a second hand poem book priced RM430 and a storybook by A. Samad Said costing RM210 will make anyone not buy. Second, the sales lady (the owner) is so impatient and rude. I didn't want to buy anything and when i went out she cussed at my friend and i. Damn, how am i going to go for a second time and actually buy a good book that will profit her. The other lady was nice though.
