Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, Kuala Lumpur

Admire the oldest Hindu temple in the city at Sri Maha Mariamman Temple. Founded in 1873 on the edge of Chinatown, the place of worship functioned for many years as a private shrine for the Pillai family who built it. The impressive five-tiered gopuram (a South Indian monumental tower) that juts out above the entrance features 228 idols and sets the tone for the ornate decor of the interior. The temple's spatial design represents a human body lying on its back, with its feet pointing east, head pointing west: walk through the temple and consider the connections between each room and the part of the body you are in. • In the corner of Chinatown, there was a Hindu temple opposite the tomb of Seki. The top of the gate was a party and was covered by a lot of God's sculptures. Many India-based citizens visited the shrine and felt anew that it was consequent. You can also visit the inside, but you need to deposit the footwear in a place like reception on the left entrance.

  • Really a good experience inside the temple. It was very traditional and peaceful. There was traditional music being played during the evening prayers. You have no such restrictions and also there is prasad to eat at the end of prayer and evening ceremony. The people were good there and offered us food with great welcome nature. we loved it
  • Nice worship place. Love the way the entire temple is designed. People from Tamilnadu would feel at home while visiting here. Clean maintenance, good management.
