  • I was recommended this place by some fellow travellers I met in Mexico and am stoked I was put onto this hidden gem. My lessons were 1 on 1 with Julian, who made the classes fun and was really good at explaining everything clearly. Sometimes it felt more like 2 friends talking, but he still made sure I was learning my verbs and tenses and expanding my vocabulary. The town of El Gigante is a beautiful quiet little place away from the busier more famous surf breaks near by, though the wave here is still a fun little wave with a good vibe and not too crowded. Staying in a home stay with Mary Elena was also a good way to practice Spanish, experience some local culture and eat some good food. I even moved to another place in town when my home stay was over and extended my time in Gigante a few more nights!
  • Man, I can't imagine there being a better Spanish school in the entire of Central America. My partner and I were total beginners which we were a bit worried about because most people at the school were much more advanced than us, but it helped us SO MUCH and was so fun and nice. All the teachers were super lovely, including the owner Juan. We would even consider Juan and another teacher there, Julian, to be our friends now. We definitely 100% recommend doing one-on-one classes, and if possible, 2-3 weeks minimum if you're a total beginner like us. We only did a week and were very sad to leave. We did the homestay as well, which for a week, would be perfect. Honestly, such a fantastic experience, can't recommend highly enough.
