Discover why skiing is so important to Norway's culture and visit a modern ski jump at Holmenkollen Ski Museum. Easily reached by metro, the ski jump was opened in 2010, and stands 64 m (209 ft) high. Hop on one of the enclosed elevators that bring you up to the all-glass starting box, where you can take in a 360-degree view of Oslo. Adrenaline junkies can ride down on Fly Holmenkollen, the zipline that runs 361 m (1,184 ft) and follows the same route as the ski jumpers. Also try the Kollen Ski Simulator, which uses advanced technology to show you what it feels like to ski down one of the toughest slopes. Stop by the museum on your way out to witness over 4,000 years of ski history and learn about how skis were once a necessity in this region. The price of the museum is included in your ticket up to the jump. Add Holmenkollen Ski Museum to your Oslo travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Oslo trip planner.

Be aware that the Ski Museum is closed for the rest of 2023. The viewing platform at the top of the jump tower remains open. We visited both last fall and enjoyed both.

Incredible views and great experience. It’s very steep and has lots of stairs. If you don’t like heights, it will be a rough road for you. If you get dizzy I would not recommend because of the steepness of the stairs. It’s quite amazing and to think people go as fast as they can and jump off is astounding. Best views over Oslo.

Small place but really interesting. You don't have to be ski expert (I have never ski in my life) to visit the museum. You will learn interesting, unique things and spend easily 1 hour. It worth heading to the jump tower, as it provides extremely good views of the Oslo city and the fjord. Don't miss the opportunity. Highly recommended.
