Create an itinerary including Stortinget
Gain insight into Norwegian history, politics, and struggle for independence on a guided tour of Stortinget. Designed both inside and out by the Swedish architect Emil Victor Langlet and designated for parliament in 1866, the building has influences of French and Italian architecture. Most notably, the plenary chamber sits in the semi-circular part of the building rather than at the center. Guided tours cannot be booked in advance, so arrive 30 to 45 minutes early to guarantee your spot. To visit Stortinget and other attractions in Oslo, use our Oslo trip maker site.

  • This is where Norway's parliament meets. The building is beautiful and the park across from the building only seems to emphasize the importance of the parliament. Over 150 years old. An excellent...

  • An interesting building. You have to wait for the guided tour, which is very enlightening. Take the opportunity to photograph the various works of art that are on display during the visit.

  • A train, but underground! Through tunnels! This station is big, with many exits. I feel like a Ninja Turtle, moving under the big city streets. I would be Donatello, of course. A lot of people think he's the lamest one, because the others are "cool" and he's the nerd. But despite being the only one interested in science and books and stuff, he still pulls his weight as a team member! In season 3 episode 6 he single handedly rescues the other turtles who have been captured by Shredder and the Foot clan, even beating Be-bop, Rocksteady and the Shredder one by one in order to save his friends, a feat no other turtle has been able to achieve. Donatello also gets the purple headband and I love purple. Great colour. Anyway the tunnels exits are pretty wide ranging around the area behind Storhaug making it a very useful stop for the center of the city, with the addition that ALL underground lines pass through this stop allowing you to reach anywhere on the system in a single ride from here.
