Scenic Walking Area · Flea Market
Founded at the turn of the 20th century in a dried riverbed where Bedouin Arabs once traded wares, Souq Waqif remains a major marketplace providing access to a range of local goods. Frequented by locals and visitors, the market offers traditional clothing, handcrafted items, spices, and souvenirs, hosting many restaurants, cafes, and shisha lounges that serve Qatari, Yemeni, Syrian, and various other Middle Eastern cuisines. Check out the parts of the souq where domestic pets, like dogs, cats, turtles, and birds are sold, in addition to an area devoted to falcons and falconers. • A beautiful place full of ancient folklore, and there are many different restaurants such as Arabic cuisine, cafes and shishes. There is a special market for perfumes, as well as a market for pets...  more »
  • It's a very wonderful place to chill with friends. A lot of souvenirs and coffee shops. You can sit outside to take shisha.  more »
  • The Pick of Doha! Just walking on the meandering lanes consumed by the heady mix of spices gives it an old world charm that I assume is what books of ancient markets speak of. Beyond that you see markets and lanes filled with Gold, Textiles, Shoes, Perfumes, food, sweets, utensils and pets. It's a lovely walkabout if that's all you want, or a place to buy a few works of the middle East and a lot from elsewhere. There a lot of restaurants, tourists and locals of every hue and sound. I loved the place, though I bought nothing except the atmosphere and food.
  • It's a nice place to hangout... Cloths, utensils, pets, spices, dry fruits, sweets, like many items are there to see and purchase... Many restaurants with zeesha are also available there... We could see a few small food outlets only, it will be better if more of them are available. It will be better if multilingual signboard are available. We couldn't see any of them...
