Bridge of Lies represents the oldest forged-iron bridge in Romania, decorated with rosettes plus floral and geometric motifs. It bears the city's coat of arms on its southern side. Friedrich-Hütte built the bridge in 1859, probably for the circulation of carts. The peculiar name of the bridge--which is the result of the mispronunciation of a German word "Liegenbrücke," meaning "the bridge down"--has inspired several local legends. One story goes that the bridge repeats all the lies uttered by the people crossing it, thus bringing the liars down to earth. • Without discounting its rich history, it is just a simple bridge for me, The bonus is however to witness some wedding photo sessions and a nearby cafe serenade by soothing piano music.

  • Nice. Romantic. So many flowers. Very well maintained and promoted. I just found on my last visit (been there many times) you shouldn't lie while on the bridge (or the bridge will fall 😲)
  • Amazing bridge. it was magical, the view of the bridge and the church's bells ringing in the morning. you can also see a wonderful view of an old street under the bridge. i visited it at night and in the next morning. i prefer seeing it when it's bright outside.
