Co-founded by Anthony Then and Ms Goh Soo Khim in 1988, the Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) is the premier professional dance company of Singapore, and is one of the few which has emerged in the Asia-Pacific region. The company is now directed by Janek Schergen.

The Company holds a repertoire which ranges from classical to contemporary ballet, including works from well-known choreographers like Edwaard Liang, Nils Christe, Goh Choo San, Val Caniparoli, Edmund Stripe, Xing Liang, Stanton Welch, George Balanchine, Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, Boi Sakti, Sakiko Oshima, Ohad Naharin and Marie-Claude Pietragalla.

SDT performs several seasons a year, including performances at the Esplanade Theatre, performing home of the SDT, and at the Fort Canning Green, residence of the widely popular Ballet Under the Stars (BUTS) series. Introduced in 1995, BUTS has, to date, attracted over 160,000 audience members from all walks of life and has been instrumental to introducing dance to a wider audience in Singapore. SDT has a full repertoire of full-length classics including The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Giselle, Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake and Sleeping beauty.

  • We wanted the kids to experience it. We got groupons but even otherwise it is not that expensive. The movie was fun but it was too short at only about 6-7 minutes. Kids wanted more.
  • A simple simulation ride that might appeal to kids. A rather overpriced carnival ride
