Step out of the city life by going to Arthur's Seat and Calton Hill. Popular historic sites such as Edinburgh Castle and The Real Mary King's Close are in your itinerary. There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Palace of Holyroodhouse, steep yourself in history at Georgian House, examine the collection at Royal Yacht Britannia, and admire the landmark architecture of The Scottish Parliament.

Situated on the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss, York has witnessed an abundance of major political events throughout its two millennia of existence.
On the 20th (Tue), steep yourself in history at York City Walls, contemplate the long history of Treasurer's House, then delve into the distant past at Fountains Abbey, and finally explore and take pictures at Nidderdale Llamas. Keep things going the next day: look for all kinds of wild species at National Centre for Birds of Prey, then identify plant and animal life at York Bird of Prey Centre, and then examine the collection at National Railway Museum.
