Isla de Ometepe

Isla de Ometepe may be small in size, but it boasts two large volcanoes that dominate its landscape and influence the local lifestyle.
Spend the 18th (Tue) wandering through the wild on Dinarte's Rental. There's still lots to do: ponder the design of Ojo de Agua, contemplate the geological forces at Volcan Concepcion, step off the mainland to explore Isla Ometepe, and examine the collection at Museo Ometepe.

You can take a bus from Leon to Isla de Ometepe in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Thu) to allow time to travel to San Juan del Sur.

San Juan del Sur

Set in a crescent-shaped bay, San Juan del Sur has become known as a popular surfing spot and coastal holiday destination for Nicaraguan families and international visitors alike.
On the 21st (Fri), whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, relax and rejuvenate at some of the top local wellness centers, and then kick back and relax at San Juan del Sur Beach. Do a combination of ferry and bus from Isla de Ometepe to San Juan del Sur in 3 hours. Expect a daytime high around 90°F in May, and nighttime lows around 79°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Granada.

La Gran Sultana

The lakeside city of Granada has the look and feel of a historically important economic and political center, with grand colonial architecture, a unified look, and many cultural attractions.
Take a break from Granada with a short trip to Apoyo in La Laguna de Apoyo, about 36 minutes away.
