In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Head to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and Ferrari Storefor plenty of shopping. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Milan: Verona (Museo di Castelvecchio, Arena di Verona, &more). The adventure continues: take in the spiritual surroundings of Duomo di Milano, indulge in some culinary diversions at a local gastronomic tour, steep yourself in history at Il Cenacolo, and get to know the fascinating history of Piazza del Duomo.

If you are flying in from Switzerland, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Milano Linate Airport and Milan Bergamo Airport. Located in the popular holiday region of Ticino, Lugano is the largest Italian-speaking town in Switzerland.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Thu): pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di Sant' Antonio Abate, then contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Lugano, then walk around Parco Ciani, and finally look for gifts at Inperfetta Vintage.
