A cultured and storied city, Leon attracts guests from all over the world, drawn to the second city's style, thriving intellectual life, and liveliness.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Juan Venado Island Nature Reserve and Calvary Church - Sweet Name of Jesus. Visit Church The Recollection and Catedral de la Asunción for their historical value. The adventure continues: get impressive views of Cerro Negro Volcano and examine the collection at Museo de Arte Fundacion Ortiz-Gurdian.

You can take a bus from Leon to Isla de Ometepe in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Mon) to allow time to travel to San Juan del Sur.

Traveling by combination of ferry and bus from Isla de Ometepe to San Juan del Sur takes 3 hours. In January in San Juan del Sur, expect temperatures between 35°C during the day and 28°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) to allow time to drive to Granada.
