A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Escape the urban bustle at Ile Saint-Louis and Île de la Cité. Your inner history buff will appreciate Arc de Triomphe and Pere-Lachaise Cemetery. The adventure continues: take a stroll through Latin Quarter, visit Saint Germain des Pres Quarter, admire the masterpieces at Louvre Museum, and pause for some serene contemplation at Basilique du Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre.

Manchester, UK to Paris is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also take a train; or do a combination of car and train. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to Central European Standard Time (CET), which is usually a 1 hour difference. In July, Paris is somewhat warmer than Manchester - with highs of 30°C and lows of 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Thu) to allow time to take a train to Bordeaux.

The Port of the Moon

With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
We've included these beaches for you: Plage de Chatelaillon and Plage de la Grande Conche. Step out of the city life by going to Grottes du Regulus et des Fontaines and Plage La Salie Sud. Explore Bordeaux's surroundings by going to Grottes de Matata (in Meschers-sur-Gironde), Eglise Saint-Mathias De Barbezieux (in Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire) and Eglise Sainte-Radegonde de Talmont (in Talmont sur Gironde). Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at La ville d'Hiver, learn about winemaking at Chateau Cantenac, see the interesting displays at Musee des Commerces d'Autrefois, and take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Andre Cathedral.

Unofficially dubbed the Capital of the North, Manchester is known for its influence on industry and music, as well as its world-renowned connection to sports.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Lyme Park and Mendips - John Lennon Home. Step off the beaten path and head to Pavilion Gardens and Gladstone Pottery Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Manchester side-trips: Little Moreton Hall (in Congleton), Gawsworth Hall (in Gawsworth) and Port Sunlight Museum & Garden Village (in Port Sunlight).
