Bogota — 15 nights

Athens of South America
Colombia's heart and soul, Bogota has earned the nickname "Athens of South America" thanks to its abundance of universities, libraries, and lower-level schools.Bring the kids along to Monserrate and Laguna de Guatavita. Get out of town with these interesting Bogota side-trips: Capilla Valvanera (in Chia), Embalse del Muna (in Sibate) and Parque Jaime Duque (in Tocancipa). Spend the 8th (Wed) exploring nature at Chingaza National Park. There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira, browse the exhibits of Museo Santa Clara, tour the pleasant surroundings at Bioparque La Reserva, and contemplate the waterfront views at Laguna de Ubaque.
Plan my trip to Bogota with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.
If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiport is El Dorado International Airport. In April, plan for daily highs up to 22°C, and evening lows to 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
