The commercial and entertainment capital of Saudi Arabia, Jeddah offers a dazzling range of sites and activities combined with mouthwatering cuisine.

You can drive from Mecca to Jeddah in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Mecca in January: highs in Jeddah hover around 33°C, while lows dip to 23°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Thu) so you can travel to Yanbu.

Particularly known for its large expatriate community--resident here because of the oil and petrochemical industry--the port city of Yanbu has a pronounced international feel.
