Bakewell is a small market town and civil parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, well known for the local confection Bakewell pudding. Your inner history buff will appreciate Chatsworth House and Holy Trinity Parish Church. Step out of the city life by going to Monsal Trail and The Donkey Sanctuary. Venture out of the city with trips to Charnwood Forest Alpacas (in Boundary) and Trentham Monkey Forest (in Stoke-on-Trent). There's lots more to do: get to know the fascinating history of Limestone Way / Bradford River Walk, explore the activities along Ladybower Reservoir, take in nature's colorful creations at Bath Gardens, and explore the wealth of natural beauty at Poole's Cavern & Buxton Country Park.

For other places to visit, more things to do, photos, and other tourist information, you can read our Bakewell trip planner.
