Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting and Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch. Musical Instrument Museum and Buddy Stubbs Harley-Davidson will appeal to museum buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to Spur Cross Ranch (in Cave Creek), Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch (in Gilbert) and Camp Verde (Verde Valley Archaeology Center & Fort Verde State Historic Park). The adventure continues: take in the exciting artwork at Elan Wollitzer Gallery and walk around Lake Pleasant Regional Park.

Tucson to Phoenix is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or fly. Traveling from Tucson in July, things will get a bit warmer in Phoenix: highs are around 106°F and lows about 85°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sat) so you can go by car back home.
