You can drive from Mecca to Jeddah in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. When traveling from Mecca in December, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Jeddah: temperatures range from 35°C by day to 25°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) to allow enough time to fly back home.
