Nicoya — 5 nights

Nicoya, a city on the Nicoya Peninsula of the Guanacaste province, Costa Rica, is one of the country's most important tourist zones; it serves as a transport hub to Guanacaste's beaches and national parks. Bring the kids along to Curu National Wildlife Refuge and Puerto Carrillo. Explore Nicoya's surroundings by going to River Rafting & Tubing (in Playas del Coco), Centro de Rescate Las Pumas (in Canas) and Liberia (Cafe Tio Leo & Immaculate Church of Concepcion de Maria). Spend the 18th (Sun) exploring nature at Barra Honda National Park. Spend the 20th (Tue) exploring nature at Palo Verde National Park. There's more to do: take in the dramatic scenery at Cataratas Llanos de Cortes and enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Manzanillo.
