There's much more to do: explore the galleries of Taoga Niue Museum, tour the pleasant surroundings at Palaha Cave, kick back and relax at Utuko Beach, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Tomb Point.

To see where to stay, other places to visit, maps, and tourist information, refer to the Alofi trip itinerary website.

Auckland, New Zealand to Alofi is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from New Zealand Standard Time to Niue Time, which is usually a -23 hour difference. Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Auckland in January: high temperatures in Alofi hover around 34°C and lows are around 30°C. One of the world's tiniest independent nations, Niue packs plenty of appeal for bold explorers. A trip to Niue reveals rugged terrain--you'll need a good pair of hiking boots to climb and walk to some of the island's top attractions. Guided tours abound, but you can always rent a motorcycle of bicycle and set off on your own. If you're into active vacations, consider making your holiday in Niue all about caving, snorkeling, fishing, hiking, or kayaking.
