The city of Mecca boasts the statues of the holiest site in Islam, and represents the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and therefore the religion itself.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Mecca: Jeddah (Al-Balad, King Fahd's Fountain, &more). Next up on the itinerary: admire the landmark architecture of Kaaba and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Mount Arafat.

As the nation's capital, Riyadh represents a hub of commerce, culture, and transport.
On the 14th (Tue), steep yourself in history at Masmak Fortress, then get engrossed in the history at Al Masmak Palace Museum, then take in panoramic vistas at Al Faisaliyah Centre, and finally admire the landmark architecture of Kingdom Centre Tower. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at National Museum and then learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Riyadh Zoo.

Fly from Mecca to Riyadh in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Medina is known for historic sites, nature, and shopping. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: take in the spiritual surroundings of Al Masjid an Nabawi, explore the different monuments and memorials at Jannatul Baqi, see the interesting displays at Koran Museum, and take in the awesome beauty at Mount Uhud.

Traveling by flight from Riyadh to Medina takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Riyadh in December: highs in Medina hover around 30°C, while lows dip to 17°C.
