Take in dramatic panoramic views of the city and traditional Turkish fare atop Galata Tower. A recognizable symbol of the city's skyline, the tower stands 66.9 m (219.5 ft) high. Often referred to as the "Tower of Christ," it was the tallest and most important building during the time it was being built. Have a meal or enjoy a drink at the restaurant and cafe located at the top. After hours the upper portion turns into a lively nightclub. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Istanbul holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Galata Tower and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

An impressive construction of the tower won’t leave you calm. It is so nicely done, decorated and preserved. Conveniently located in one of the most popular parts of the city. Other then having a great city overview, you can learn some history, shop for souvenirs and meet some interesting people there from all over the world. I also was lucky to observe Istanbul sting a snowfall from the top of Galata Tower. A scenery to die for. I totally recommend you visiting this landmark.

Absolutely a must see. It's an iconic landmark and the view from the top is breathtaking. You can walk all around the tower and see the entirety of this gorgeous city. It seems this landmark is also where people take their significant other when they want to propose to them and we were fortunate enough to see this happen. It was a beautiful moment. I highly recommend visiting the Galata Tower.
