Visible from this observation point are the city’s main shopping district and the historic Edinburgh Castle. On the steep southern slope of the hill you can also visit the Scottish Parliament building, Holyrood Palace, and the old Royal High School.   • Lovely park with a wonderful view of the city and wider landscapes. There is a small shop in the old observatory and a little coffee shop that sells lovely coffee.

  • A nice walk up the hill to Calton. The path leading up wasn't too steep and only took about 5 minutes to get up there. People with mobility issues may struggle. Lovely views of Edinburgh. Nice spot...

  • Simply spectacular!!! This is a must-see destination for visitors to the city. The hill offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding countryside, and is home to several historical landmarks and monuments. The hill is easily accessible by foot or by public transportation, and the hike to the top is well worth the effort. The monuments and buildings on the hill are also worth checking out, including the National Monument, the Dugald Stewart Monument, and the City Observatory. This is the place to come if you want amazing views of the city!
