  • So peaceful (when idiotas are not using their toy water boats on the lake), you can walk round and they have plenty of trees & nature - not like some parks where they've started taking trees down to.....  more »

  • A nice green space. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The walk around the lake is easy and suitable for all ability of walkers. Some places would be a bit tricky for a wheelchair. Easy access to the river Mersey from the water park if you fancy a longer walk. There is also a small children's play park which is well equipped but on nice days it is very busy.
  • I've loved running around this place and its locale for the last 40 years. It is also a great place for riding a bike before heading further up the Mersey or over the hills over to Fairy Lane. There are always loads of other people riding, walking their dogs, and kids in the play area. Unfortunately, and similarly to Sale Water Park, there’s not much to do in the way of eating or drinking. I’ve always thought both places are missing a trick in terms of being able to grab a coffee or a bite to eat when the weather is nice and you want to pass some time in the open air. I tend to only head out there at the weekends and sometimes there is a mobile coffee shop that sets up. Often there is also an ice cream van but that’s your lot so it’s well worth taking a packed lunch with you if you think you are going to be there for a while. Having said that, I think it is a more peaceful place than Sale Water Park as you don’t have to contend with jet skis roaring around the place along with the obligatory 10 year old Vauxhall Fronteras parked near the water’s edge!
