Build your own Lego experience at LEGOLAND California, a theme park opened in 1999. Modeled on the original Lego-based park in Denmark, this venue was the first of its kind outside of Europe. Divided into several themed sections created entirely out of the Lego brand's popular building blocks, the park offers about 60 rides and attractions, designed primarily with children under 12 in mind. Young visitors can spend hours immersed in the Lego fantasy world of the play areas and wave pools, or take roller coaster and boat rides through models of medieval castles and islands populated by giant dinosaur toys. Older visitors can explore over a dozen restaurants, with menus covering everything from light snacks to gourmet meals for the health-conscious. Very nice place. My kids had a great time so we went 2 days. If you have that option, then I suggest it because you probably won't do the whole park in a day. It was very clean. The food was actually pretty good. Typical amusement park prices so expect to pay a little extra. You can bring snacks and water. The 3D (or 4D) shows are very funny so make sure to check them out. I was very disappointed that they don't have the Star Wars display anymore (no fault of theirs, $#&*@?# Disney!). We didn't stay at the hotel so I can't say anything about that. You do have to pay for parking. I suggest getting there before it opens so you don't have to wait too long for parking. And definitely get your tickets in advance.

Had a decent the today with my young kids. Park is aimed for kids ( I would say 5-10). Fun atmosphere. My daughter and son loved driving school. Park was fairly clean. The wait times were longer than posted. Food lines were long. Not a lot of sitting areas once you got your food. My biggest and probably only complaint was how slow the ride lines moved. We spent a lot of time waiting in lines. Most rides have a fairly low throughput (maybe 100 - 200 people per hour at best). The splash battle took 45 minutes when there was only 40 people in front of us.
