Create an itinerary including Tunnels Beach
Views of canyons and lush green maquis sculpt the backdrop at Tunnels Beach. The crescent-shaped beach and its large reef provide an excellent spot for diving and snorkeling, as the reef creates a barrier from the strong currents arriving from the north shore. Admire the jagged canyons and deep valleys eroded over time due to heavy rainfall. The volcanic formation of the island, visible through the underwater caverns formed from lava tubes, makes the beach an ideal snorkeling spot. Surfers can also benefit from the impressive waves beyond the reef. Try scuba diving and explore the inner and outer coral reefs, home to immense marine life, including sea turtles. • We got here early so parking wasn't an issue. This is the best beach that we have been on, on this island, or anywhere! It was so gorgeous around this area and the views from the beach don't feel real. We brought snorkels and snorkeled around and looked at fish and other sea creatures on the rocks. You can snorkel and see fish in 5 feet of water.
  • Parking is very limited but once you get here this is by far one of my favorite beaches on the island! You can't beat the background views And the reef protects you while swimming and the water is so clear and a beautiful turquoise blue!
