Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

#2 of 73 in Parks in San Francisco
Visit one of the country's largest and most-visited urban parks in the heart of the city at Golden Gate Park. The rectangular park is home to numerous museums, lakes, a botanical garden and conservatory, landscaped gardens, and athletic facilities. Spend a relaxing afternoon exploring the Japanese Tea Garden, or tour the previous home of the San Francisco 49ers football team, Kezar Stadium. Pack a picnic to enjoy lakeside or on one of the park's shaded lawns. Due to the park's sheer size, 412 hectares (1,017 acres), you might want to plan to take a bus or free shuttle back to the city center after exploring the park. • Nice city park, American size of course! Inside a beautiful Japanese garden that is a real hidden treasure: I do not know how much day you will spend in San Francisco but here you could easily spend 2 just exploring it! Anyway, it's really worth at least a ride.

  • We went to the science museum in golden gate park. There are many attractions there to choose from, but the science museum is by far my favorite!! So so so much to do, see, and learn there! I love it and my kids love it. Amazing in so many ways. I cannot emphasize enough how much I LOVE this place. I would recommend this place to every person!!
  • Golden Gate Park is one of the most awesome places in San Francisco. It is to San Francisco the same as Central Park is to New York City. It is home to the De Young Museum and the California Academy of Science among other things. You can visit the Botanical Gardens the Aquarium of The Bay and the Conservatory of Flowers , the Japanese Tea Gardens and many other places. It's one of the most beautiful places in the City.
