We drove by the plantation, and, on a whim, we booked a tram ride for later in the day. This place was amazing!!! The shops were adorable and sold a lot of unique things. The grounds were gorgeous and well-maintained. The tram ride was educational and gave a great look at a sampling of the agriculture on Maui. The coconut husking demonstration was intriguing, fun, and funny. We did not eat in the restaurant, but it smelled delicious, and we later heard from a local that the food is divine. If I lived on Maui, this is where I want to work! :)

It’s pretty cool to walk around the plantation and read about some of the information they have posted on sugar cane and other plantation crops. The tour is a little pricey for what you get but it is fun, and the guide was pretty good. The little plantation market within has a lot of interesting local products that are worth a look. Also within the plantation grounds is zip lining and a cafe. I would recommend this for anyone who will be in Maui for a decent amount of time. For travelers who are a little more strapped for time you can skip this attraction without feeling like you missed something, as the island has plenty of other incredible attractions.
