Explore the vast heritage of ancient civilizations at Museum of Vietnamese History, housing an impressive collection of artifacts from Neolithic to Cham, Khmer, and Vietnamese. Telling stories of Vietnam's past with exhibits from all periods, the museum showcases ornate robes, Hindu carvings, and stone Buddhist sculptures. The highlights in this exquisite 1929 Indochinese building include valuable relics rescued from Angkor Wat, early Neolithic tools and ceramic vases, and a mummified body of a woman who died in 1869. A model Stone Age village, plus colonial era and revolutionary-period armorials testify to Vietnam's tumultuous and complex past. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Ho Chi Minh City holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Museum of Vietnamese History and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Great experience love the exhibition. Must do when you visit the city! As a Filipino cant help but appreciate the commonality between our history and the Vietnamese.

Make sure you look up for the opening hours before even visit this museum. We went here, not even finish reading the info and get kick out because of the close hour (at 11pm for some reason). Ticket is 25-30k per person. The museum is actually quite nice. They have plenty of rooms, summarise history of Vietnam from the very beginning to recent history. They display everything quite nice and helpful. Of course there is not enough info but I think for a long history stories, this place done quite well. They have a lot of stuffs to see as well. And they organised the room based on the history timeline quite nice. We spent hours to read most of the info in here. Overall this place is a very good place to learn about Vietnam history in general. But have to make sure looking up for the opening hours before going here.
An interesting place to get acquainted with the history of Vietnam. Many exhibits can still be found in ordinary Vietnamese houses. I like that the Vietnamese value their culture
